Habit checklist: routine/reward

Starting the day is the most important. The things we get done before breakfast are the most likely to happen consistently.

Create a checklist to be filled out at breakfast

For a completed checklist a reward is given with the meal

Make sure to provide the reward consistently until the habit is established. But once established a natural reward is already in place: Breakfast

The artificial reward amplifies breakfast initially, providing extra motivation until the routine is established.
